October 12, 2019 Stated Meeting

We couldn’t have asked for a more glorious day for a stated meeting! We had an eventful day full of fellowship, good food, and fresh air.
We opened the day with a delicious lunch of BBQ and beans with some delicious chocolate desserts.  Thanks to Vernon Holguin who served as "chief cook and bottle washer” on this day.
It was G  o  o  o oood food as always Vernon.

The atmosphere was truly fraternal as nearly 20 brethren and visitors learned more about Olive Branch, enjoyed each other’s company, investigated the upper room, or just relaxed and unwound.  My only regret of the day is that there was so much relaxation, visitation, fellowship, and work going on I forgot to take photos!  I will try to do better in the future.
😎

We opened the lodge shortly after lunch and DDGM David Williams was fraternally welcomed and made to feel at home during his second official visit to our lodge.  As is customary, we reviewed minutes from a stated meeting and a called meeting of July 13, 2019, heard the treasurer's report and the reports and actions of the various committees of the lodge.

The secretary reported that no members were in arrears of dues for 2019 and that 2020 dues statements have already been prepared and handed out, or will be mailed on Monday. He also reported on the availability of a possible bylaws update and Proposed Rules and Regulations for Olive Branch Lodge.

The members then elected a proxy to represent the lodge at Grand Lodge should it be necessary, reviewed claims and accounts and ordered them paid and DDGM David Williams presented his comments.

The lodge was then closed shortly before 2pm and the brothers then restored the hall to its original set up, cleaned up our luncheon, loaded our cars and trucks, and enjoyed brotherly fellowship in the sunshine of a glorious afternoon before driving our separate ways back home.

Our next meeting will be held January 11, 2020.
Mark January 11 on your calendars, assume your Victorian era clothing (if you've a mind to) and come on out to enjoy the food, fun, and fraternal fellowship of a Saturday afternoon meeting with your Masonic brothers.  It makes for a good and pleasant afternoon.
